Classical and Opera singers are often expected to sing in more than one language and with the growing trend in Musical Theatre, Rock and Pop for combining music styles, a command of another language whilst not essential is a desirable asset.  So to help our users and international friends we have decided to dedicate this section to resources providing online language learning. Also take a look at the Diction for Singers and Books section which contains books on diction, phonetics, interpretation and language translation for singers.

Singers requiring the services of a qualified translator can try both The Institute of Linguists www.iol.org.uk and the Institute of Translating & Interpreting www.iti.org.uk who both have databases of qualified translators on their websites.

Please note that the authors of this site only speak english, therefore we are unable to answer questions regarding phrasing or translation!  We would appreciate any information on sites providing this service or information which would aid fellow singers.......Cheers!
