There are music groups for children located throughout the UK, some schools and private teachers that specialise in teaching young children are already listed in our 'Singing Teachers Directory'. These can be privately organised or may be run on behalf of local nurseries, schools or councils, so parents are advised to grab a local paper or speak to the education department of your local authority for a list of registered/recommended music groups, visit the main library which should have a Register of Professional Private Music Teachers and it's always worth contacting the following organisations for a list of qualified teachers in your area.

Rucksack Music These 'Drop in' groups are aimed at allowing parents and carers to enjoy singing and bashing instruments with their children. Groups are available in Southgate, North Finchley, Hemel Hempstead, Crouch End, Penge, Anerley and West Norwood. Rucksack Music is meant to be fun. It is not meant as a serious music lesson and the emphasis is on enjoyment; socialising (especially for new babies and mums).
St. Andrews University Music Centre: Childrens Music Groups Music Centre, Younger Hall, North Street, St. Andrews, Fife. KY16 9YD. Various music groups and activities are open to all, but some are specifically geared towards the younger performer like the Children's Choir and Younger String Orchestra.
